Lexington-Services for John D. Shealy, 72, will be 2:00 pm Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. J. Hilton Roof officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 210 Bethlehem Circle, Leesville, SC 29070. Pallbearers will be Gregg Rish, Roddney Rish, Leonard Rish, Timothy Derrick, Danny Pitts and Mark West. Mr. Shealy passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010. Born October 26, 1937 in Lexington County, he was the son of the late Joe D. and Mattie Auerhamer Shealy. He worked in the insurance business, in hardware stores, was a contractor, worked at J. B. Martin Co., was a volunteer fireman in Leesville for a number of years and served 4 years in the Navy. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma Rish Shealy, son, David Shealy (Lila) of Lexington, daughter, Nancy Shealy Mitchell of Marietta, GA, granddaughter, Sydney Ruth Shealy, sisters, Julia Shealy of Garden City and Mary Alice Boozer (Raymond) of Gilbert. He was predeceased by his brother, Horace Shealy and his grandson, Christopher Hamm. His wife Norma would like to thank the LMC Extended Care, Lexington Trace Staff and the Hospice Care of Tri-County staff who cared for him.
