Memorial services for Thomas Edward Mattox, 81, will be held 1pm Saturday July 17, 2010 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Building Fund 1430 North Lake Dr. Lexington, SC 29072 or to a charity of one’s choice. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel is assisting the family. Mr. Mattox Passed away Wednesday July 14, 2010. Born in Blythewood, SC he was the son of the late Henry James and Kate Kelly Mattox. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Acacia Masonic Lodge # 94, and the Scottish Rites. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary H. Mattox; sons, Dana and Arlyn Mattox both of Swansea, Mike (Jessica) Mattox of Lexington; daughter, Cindy (Ken Fleming) Smith of Lexington; brother, Jack (Sara) Mattox of Blythewood; sisters, Mary “Polly” Raines and Lil (Bobby) Loner both of Blythewood; grandchildren, Brent and Brooke Smith and Zach Mattox; great grandchild, Cody Smith and Numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Charles, Ben, Rube and John; sisters Berneese Kelly and Marvia Brazell. The family would like to thank Winyah Hospice and the VA Warrior’s Walk Hospice for their outstanding care, love and compassion.
