Services for Pauline McGee Steele, 91, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Wittenberg Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am at the church. Memorials may be made to Wittenberg Lutheran Church P. O. Box 3447 Leesville, SC 29070. Barr-Price Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mrs. Steele died Sunday March 14, 2010. Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Fannie Doolittle McGee. She was a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church, retired from JB Martin Company and was a former receptionist at Barr-Price Funeral Home. She was a member of the DAV, American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, David Mayson of Las Vegas, NV, 4 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews including Peggy and George “Skip” Harris of Lexington.
She was predeceased by her husband, G. Cecil Steele and a son, James Henry Mayson.
