Leesville-Graveside services for Anthony Joseph Morell, 91, will be conducted at 4:00 pm Friday at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Brandenburg and Rev. Kathleen Panning officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Historic B-L Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, 1220 Cedar Grove Road Leesville, SC 29070.
Mr. Morell died Monday February 22, 2010. Born in Lackawanna County, PA, he was a son of the late Rosario and Sarah Sari Morell. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and a member of the DAV. He retired with 30 years civil service from the US Army Reserve Training Center in Columbia. He then went to work for Richland County School District One and retired from there.
Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Morell (Karen) of Leesville, a daughter, Dionne M. Poirier (Shawn) of Lexington, grandchildren Jason and Brent Adams, Kimberly M. Caughman (Lance), Clayton Morell, London and Riley Poirier, and step-great-grandchild Dylan Caughman, brothers, William Morell of Toms River, NJ, and Louis Morell of Port Orange, FL,
He was predeceased by his wife, Christine Lee Morell and a son, Joseph J. Morell.
